What is "Operation I Do!".

"Operation I Do!" was an expression of gratitude in the form of 2 Weddings for members of the US Armed Forces who were forward deployed in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom and/or Operation: Enduring Freedom.

Members of the military or their fiancé/fiancée were invited to enter "Operation I Do!" for an opportunity to receive a wedding in the San Diego area for up to 100 attendees including the wedding party.

The organizers believe that the foundation of American Life is the traditional family and that the military is the global protector of that family.

The closest civilian parallel to the commitment of the US Military is the traditional American Family. The most publicly understood display of this commitment is that of a Wedding.

"Operation I Do!" is a "Thank You" to the American Military from businesses in the San Diego area which provide wedding services.

When was the "Operation I Do!" Drawing and Weddings.

The ceremony to announce the winners was held on:
Friday, 29 August 2003 at The San Diego Symphony "Summer Pops" concert facility located on the downtown San Diego scenic Navy Pier.

"Alpha Wedding" was held on 7 November 2003 and "Bravo Wedding" was held on 9 April 2004.

Why "Operation I Do!".

It is the US Military that is the "beyond-our-borders" protector of the American Family. It is the US Military that defines itself by using terms such as patriotism, honor, and commitment. It is the US Military that has pledged ALL to the service of country. The individual members of the US Military know that they may sacrifice all they are for the benefit of others, and their families recognize their commitment. When called, they serve. Regardless.

"Operation I Do!" was a means to demonstrate the gratitude and respect felt by the contributors to "Operation I Do!".

"Operation I Do!" was conceived by a local resident searching for a formal means to demonstrate genuine support for the US military.

About "Operation I Do!".

"Operation I Do!" provided 2 complete weddings for members of the US Military who were forward deployed during hostilities in support of Operation: Iraqi Freedom and/or Operation: Enduring Freedom.

Members of the business community who provide services in regard to weddings were requested to contribute services which are normal to their general business activities.

No salaries, fees, or other monies, etc. have been paid to the organizers or contributors.
